Distance EducationFollowing is a list of programs available through distance education and the department. On-line Masters of Engineering (ME) ProgramThe ECE Department offers a ME degree program that can be completed through participation in on-line courses offered by the department. These courses are taught by our regular faculty, and the lecture sessions are taught to students at USU at the same time as the on-line students. Requirements for the degree are the same as those of the on-campus program, but distance learning students are able to complete the requirements without coming to the USU campus. Tentative schedule of course offerings (PDF) Forms & ApplicationsApplication to take courses: Initial application submitted to ECE Department to participate in the on-line masters degree program.Undergraduate transcript verifying degree must accompany this form. Course Authorization form (Fall 08): Approval required before each semester to take courses offered that particular semester. International Cooperative Masters (ICM) ProgramThe ECE Department at USU is developing a number of cooperative agreements with Universities in other countries. The ICM program allows students at other institutions to complete approved courses at their home institution for the first year, and then complete the degree (including the research thesis/project) during a second year at USU. This program reduces the cost to the student, but allows the student to get the MS degree from USU. International Cooperative Doctoral (ICD) ProgramThe ECE Department at USU is developing a number of cooperative agreements with Universities in other countries. The ICD program allows students at other institutions to complete nearly all of the coursework requirement of the PhD degree using approved courses at their home institution, and then complete the degree (including the research dissertation) during the remaining years at USU. This program has the advantage of allowing students to prepare for doctoral research and complete the PhD Comprehensive Examination before leaving their home institution. |
